Great riding, good ranch horses, and the glory of moving herds of cattle are the reasons most guests come to Bonanza Creek. There's no head-to-tail, we let you ride to your ability, and we do lots of it. Riding is our main activity with morning and afternoon rides as well as all day rides.
We have lots of horses and will match you to the right horse for your riding ability. We have tried and true horses, and of course those good cow horses that will also give you a thrill at a gallop.

We ask that ALL riders have riding experience, be comfortable on a horse, be capable of controlling your horse and ride at a trot before coming to Bonanza Creek. You will have a more enjoyable time if you have some saddle time in before you come as we spend long hours on the trail.
We own approximately 40 guest horses and only have 8 -12 guests a week. This means we have a better chance to pick the right horse for you. That horse will be refreshed and ready for you as he has just had a week of rest.
Bonanza Creek focuses on lots of time in the saddle. If you have ridden recently and you are in good physical condition, your time will be more enjoyable.
Cattle work is usually done once or twice a week. Moving herds from pasture to pasture, bringing the bulls home, checking for sick or injured cattle or moving the cattle to better grass and water is all great fun. For cattle work, riders should be proficient enough to ride on their own without a wrangler by their side
